A mountain no wind can move
Grief is a mountain no wind can move – a darkness in the depths of the unknown.
213 adults watched a one-minute video every day for a week: 108 of them overwhelming landscape, 105 of them ordinary greenery. The clinical psychologist Liesbeth Bogaert and colleagues measured circling thoughts, the damping of good feelings and plain happiness, before, straight after and a week later. Both groups improved on all three measures. One minute of ordinary greenery a day did as much as one minute of overwhelming landscape.
